The Challenge

Portas were working with a well established bedroom retailer to build a new brand strategy and identity.

I worked as an external expert for the agency, to help translate this into an updated store experience.


The Solution

The solution focused on four areas- elevating the physical experience, creating a sense of theatre, making it scalable, and connecting the on and offline worlds.

Updating the store environment through new materials was the base on which to build a 360 sensory experience with light, sound and smell

To create a sense of awe, the proposal was to use product materials to create display and information vignettes, as well as using the soft-goods products to create impressive store displays through multiples.

The idea was scalable through elements of proprietary furniture and vignettes of products and imagery, that could be rolled out as modules across many stores

Building customer engagement through a mix of large scale information, high touch in-store expertise and digital tools provided opportunity to link the on and offline experience, and carried the proposal beyond the store experience.
